'Nan told me years ago she left England in 1912 on the ship "Zealandic" headed for Sydney. When she arrived in Australia she worked as a maid in Australia's alpine area Snowy Mountains, Mt. Kosciusko Hotel. She must have returned to Sydney in 1913-14 as she had Freda on 30th April, 1914 and Inez on 23rd October, 1915, both at the Royal Hospital for Women, Paddington NSW. She also worked at the the Hotel Brighton in Sydney at this time.' Ronald continues: 'Nan married William Thomas Green on the 9th June, 1915. They resided at 58 Fairview Street, Arncliffe, Sydney.' 'Nan had two children to William Green. Dot (Estha) Green born 1918 and Bill Green born 1920.' 'William Green when he married Nan had a daughter from a previous marriage. The daughter's name was Florence. She was born in 1906.' 189
