Comment:
Little is known about George and his life except that he settled in Western Australia (Perth) and established a family there. It is assumed that George died in Western Australia and is buried there. His eldest child, Ruby, was living in Western Australia in 1995, and was in reasonably good health until late 1998, when she died on 26 December - one day before her 100th birthday.
George's son, Arthur, was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross for gallantry during World War II.
